Reason of The Pink Colour
Hutt Lagoon's iconic coloring comes from the presence of the carotenoid-producing algae, Dunaliella salina - which is a source of beta-carotene; a food-coloring agent and a great source of Vitamin A.
Best Time for Visit
The best land-based view of the Pink Lake can be found on the road to Port Gregory, Port Gregory Road when the sun is high - this will bring out the most impressive shades.
Overview
Sometimes bright pink bubbles and occasionally even red. It’s the extremely high level of nature that gives the lagoon its unusual color, and its vibrancy changes with the seasons and time of day.
